Strawberry Banana Squish

Strawberry Banana Squish

Claire's Strawberry Banana Squish was originally named by Claire as squash instead of squish because she squashed the fruit. Having the word squash in the title might mislead people to think there is the actual vegetable squash in the recipe, and Claire has conceded that Claire's Strawberry Banana Squish might be a better name.  Nevertheless, Claire's Strawberry Banana Squish is her very own creation. It is a breakfast or snack food she created at the age of four.  It is quick to make and requires no electrical devices or cooking. The only tools needed are a bowl, a measuring cup, spoon, and potato masher. It is the perfect started recipe for a child to use to make his or her own food.

  • 2 cups of washed strawberries, washed, and with green leaves removed
  • 1 medium-sized banana, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon of raw sugar
  • 1/4 cup of oat milk, or other plant-based milk
  • a pinch of  salt
  • 2 drops of vanilla extract (optionally)
  1. In a mixing bowl, place all the ingredients and using a potato masher, crush and stir the ingredients until you get a smooth pudding-like consistency.
  2. Pour into a serving bowl or two and enjoy.

An alternative to using sugar, sometimes we use maple syrup.
